17th Annual Penn State Uplifting Athletes Lift for Life Friday, July 12

The 17th Annual Penn State Uplifting Athletes is Friday, July 12 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Holuba Hall. Proceeds from the event will benefit cancer research and the rare disease community.

 

The select Uplifting Athletes officers and select Penn State football student-athletes will be available to meet with the media beginning at 4 p.m. at Holuba Hall. Assistant AD for Performance Enhancement Dwight Galt will be available to the media following the Lift for Life event.

 

Players who are tentatively scheduled to be available between 4-4:40 p.m. on Friday: Sean Clifford, Pat Freiermuth, Will Fries, KJ Hamler, Jan Johnson, Michal Menet, PJ Mustipher, Antonio Shelton, Ricky Slade, Chris Stoll, Jonathan Sutherland

 

Media planning to attend Lift for Life are asked to please contact Cristin Guiher (cms36@psu.edu) from Penn State Strategic Communications with your affiliation, the names of the attendees from your outlet by Tuesday, July 10.

 

The 17th Annual Penn State Lift for Life will again feature the Nittany Lion offense taking on the defense in a series of competitions to benefit rare diseases through the Penn State Chapter of Uplifting Athletes.

 

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for kids to support the Penn State Chapter of Uplifting Athletes. All proceeds from the Penn State Lift for Life will benefit the rare disease community.

 

The football team will also conduct a kids clinic from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Cost to participate in the clinic is $15 per child. The participants also will receive a Lift for Life T-shirt.

 

More than 80 football squad members are expected participate in the Penn State Lift for Life and will be available for an autograph session immediately after the event in Holuba Hall. This year’s Penn State Football poster will be available, while supplies last.

 

Uplifting Athletes has raised nearly $1.4 million for cancer research and the rare disease community since 2003.
