Flashback: MC and SC matmen stage nail biter

When State College hosted the Mifflin County matmen, it would be a night that each team would show its talent in full force as the match wasn’t decided until the final match of the evening.
Going into the the 160-pound match up, Mifflin County held a slim 36-32 advantage when Ian Barr pinned Drayson Sullivan with 1:02 left in the second period to take home the win.
Despite the loss, it was a match the Huskies did not hold their head as they battled throughout.
Opening the bout, Mifflin County 170-pound phenom Trent Hidlay led the match off with a pin over State College’s Ryan Kunz.
Teammate Scout Kyper upped the Huskie lead 12-0 with a pin of his own against Brett Fields also in the second.
The Little Lions got on the board when Cole Ubras pinned Austin Haubrick with a 1:07 left in the second.
Pete Haffner cut the Mifflin County advantage to 12-11 when he defeated Hunter Wagner by a tech fall at the 220-pound weight class.
State College picked up an easy win picking up the forfeit, taking the lead for the first time, 17-12.
MCs Christian Fisher tied the game at 17 with a tech fall over Ben Krick. 18-2.
At 113, Joey Taptich defeated State’s Clayton Leidy 11-2, giving Mifflin County back the lead at 21-17.
Mifflin picked up the win at 126 when Josh Snook picked up the forfeit win.
126-pounder Little Lion Jacob Pammer outlasted Keith Shearer, 4-0, closing back in on the lead, making it 27-20.
Noah Myers got the “Purple and Black attack” back in the winning end, defeating Adam Stover 8-1.
Mifflin County kept winning as Logan Wise took the 138-pound weight Class with a pin over Seth McMahon.
However, State College rallied late picking up wins at 145 by Zach Price, Isaiah Lose and finally Barr to take home the victory.
