EJ relay teams look sharp despite team loss to PV

The Penn’s Valley track and field team battled the young East Juniata tracksters Monday night and came out victorious 105-40 on the boys’ side and 111-29 on girls competition.
East Juniata got wins from John Moyer in the 100-yard dash with a time of 12.0.
In the relays, the Tigers took 2-of-3 winning in the 400-meter relay with a time of 49.6 while the 1600-meter relay won the top spot finishing with a time of 3:54.1.
Carson Horning took top honors in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.1 while teammate Garrett Gabel won the only field event with a 37′ 1″ throw in the shot put.
On the girls’ side, East Juniata got top wins from its 400-meter relay team with a top time of 55.4.
Clare Guyer tossed an event winning throw of 89′ 3″ in the javelin.
Alyssa Hobbs finished with a first in the shot put with a throw of 29′ 1/2″.
Rounding out the first place finishers was Madison Macdonald in the long jump with a leap of 13′ 2 1/2″.
