MC girls fall in overtime

The Mifflin County girls field hockey team’s 7-game winning streak was halted Monday after it lost to Cumberland valley 3-2 in overtime.
Defense was the name of the game in the first half as neither team was able to get one past the others goalie.
With the score 0-0 at the half, CV scored first at 27:19 by Maddie Brown-Scherer.
After trailing by one, Mifflin County scored to tie the game at 23:31 off an assist by Marcella Pupo.
MC scored again to take the lead for the first time in the game at 22:40 by Daphne Snook assisted by Emily Shilling.
Cumberland Valley tied the game and sent it into an over time period when they scored at 4:59 by Holly Bradley assisted by Maddie Brown-Scherer.
In the overtime period, Cumberland Valley’s Maddie Brown-Scherer scored at 10:47 left in overtime.
MC goalie Selena Breneman had 11 saves.
The lady Huskies are now 6-3-0 League and 7-3-0 overall.
