Juniata track sweeps Millersburg

The Juniata boys and girls track and field teams ended their nights on a strong note, sweeping Millersburg 93-57 and 92-58, respectively.
On the boys’ side, the Indians took 2-of-3 in the relays. They picked up a 10:44.6 in the 4×800 relay and a 6:33.8 in the 4×400 relay.
Will Tyson took top honors in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles with times of 17.4 and 47.1, respectively.
James Hazard took the top spot in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:44.1.
In the 400-meter run, Jeremiah Parson finished with a time of 59.3 to take the top nod.
The boys continues to roll as Clay Yeager won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.8.
In the 200, the Indians got a first place finish from T. Schellenberger who finished with a time of 25.6.
Things continued to roll as the day went on.
Distance runner Garrett Baublitz finished first in the 3200-meter run with the fastest time of 11:39.5.
In the field events, Juniata took the top spots in numerous events.
Wade Moore launched the longest in the discus with a throw of 127’1”.
Teammate Brayden Pannebaker took the long jump with a final top leap of 17’4 1/2”.
Rounding out the top finishers was C. Lehman in the pole vault with a jump of 12’.
The girls battled just as hard and finished in the top spot 12 times.
Juniata also took 2-of-3 relay events. They took tops in the 4×100 and 4×400 with times of 54.0 and 6:32.4, respectively.
Picking up wins in numerous events were Janessa Swartz. Swartz won in the 1600 with a time of 6:14.0 and in the 400 with a top time of 1:08.0.
Zoe Burns won the 100-meter dash (13.4) and in the 200-meter dash (29.0).
Rounding out the multiple winners was Sydney Sheaffer took both the triple jump and the high jump with jumps of 32’2” and 4’10”.
Ellie Shepps took the top nod in the 100-hurdles with a time of 17.2.
Distance runner Carli Walters finished first in the 3200 with a finishing time of 14:24.1.
Julie Hart won the shot put with a launch of 28’ 2 1/2”.
Taking the last top spot was Madison Beward in the pole vault with a jump of 8’0”.
