Lady Eagles knock off Red Raiders in nine innings

BELLEFONTE – When these two teams get together, you throw out the records.
The Bellefonte and Bald Eagle Area girls renewed their rivalry Friday to end the 2018 regular season.
Both teams didn’t just go the usual seven but continued into extras until the ninth inning when the Eagles plated one, taking the 4-3 victory.
 Bald Eagle got multi hits from Mara Hockenberry with three singles, Toni Yarrison who had two singles and Mara Caldana tallied three singles
Bellefonte’s got multiple hits from Mallorie Smith three singles, Rianna Trexler two singles, Hanna Lauck two singles/double.
Bald Eagle hurler Madison Peters went the distance as she allowed three runs while facing 37 batters. She allowed 10 hits and had nine strike outs while walking just one.
Lexi Rogers took the loss for the Red Raiders as she also went the distance in the loss as she faced 38, allowing four runs on 10 hits while striking out four.
Bellefonte scores first, plating two in the bottom of the fourth.
Bald Eagle came back and took the lead in the sixth inning after scoring three runs, making it 3-2.
The Red Raiders came back to tie the game in the bottom of the inning, making it a 3-3 tie.
Neither team was able to score in the seventh so the game went into extra innings.
Both teams’ defenses took control of the eighth before Bald Eagle would take and score the run it need to pick up the victory.
