TJs head to Cal Ripken title tilt with walk off win

And then there were two.
With one spot remaining in the Cal Ripken Super Series, the Moose went head-to-head against TJs.
Both teams left everything on the field as TJs came from behind to take home a 8-7 walk off win in nail biting fashion.
TJs will now battle Krentzmans in the title tilt slated for Wednesday at Decatur field.
Leading the way offensively for TJs were Farrell Souders (2-for-4, 2RBis) and Gavin Knode (3-For-4, 2RBIs).
But the clutch performances also came from the bottom of the order where Liv Snook, Addison Shilling and Fletcher Wilson all scored multiple times, setting up the top of the order for Big innings.
The Moose, who jumped out to a 4-0 lead early on were led by Dupree Reed (3-for-4, run) and Trevor Miles (2-For-4 run, 2RBIs).
Going into the sixth inning, both teams went in tied at six.
Moose would take the early advantage.
Kaden Varner took on for the team as he was hit by a pitch. He was replaced by pinch runner Jeremiah Partchey.
Reed kept things going, singling to right.
Both moved into scoring position on stolen bases.
With one out, Partchey scored on a single by Bryson Hughes. Reed was called out trying to score as well.
That would be the only run Moose was able to muster in the inning but it was enough to have it up by one going into TJs last at bats.
Snook and teammate Shilling both showed patience at the plate and walked to put the tying and winning runs on base.
With one out, Souders singles deep to right, loading the bases.
Gavin Knode’s single scored Snook to tie things at seven, setting the stage for Ryan Hine. Hine singled in Shilling to end the game.
In the first, Moose opened the game with two runs.
Reed started the game off with a single.
Grady Hopple followed with a walk.
Bryson Hughes loaded the bases with a walk of his own.
Trevor Miles’ double brought in Reed and Hopple to take the 2-0 advantage.
Starting Moose pitcher Myka Simmons did not allow a hit in his two innings on the mound.
TJ pitcher Gavin Knode was very effective as well, striking out five.
In the top of the third, the Moose added two more to take the lead at 4-0.
However, in the bottom of the inning TJs cut the lead to one, plating three.
The Moose plated two more in the fourth, increasing its lead to 6-3.
But TJs rallied back in the bottom of the inning to help force the game to be tied going into the sixth and adding to the drama that was just about to start.
But there were no losers on the field on this night as both teams proved that the future of Mifflin County baseball will be strong for years to come.
