Penns Valley girls top Po

The Penns Valley girls continue to shine. 

Wednesday, the Lady Rams defeated Philipsburg-Osceola in a Mountain League showdown.

In the end, Penns Valley came out victorious 67-49.

The Rams starters held the Mounties sharp shooter Halle Herrington to nine until the final period when the second team came in. She finished with 18.

Samantha Bainey tallied 16. 

Bells Culver finished with a game-high 27 points.

Teammate Hannah Montminy followed up with a 16-point effort.

Rounding out the double-digit scorers for the Rams was Emma Butler who posted 10.

Offensively, the Lady Rams opened the first quarter, outscoring the Mounties 19-11.

In the second, Penns Valley extended its lead as it outscored PO 21-10.

When the two teams went into the intermission 40-21.

Things were close in the third quarter as the Lady Mounties went toe-to-toe with the Rams, trailing 15-13.

In the final stanza, PO finally outscored Penns Valley But it was too little too late as the Rams went onto the victory.
