Mount Union Takes Victory Against Juniata Valley In Pitcher’s Duel

Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound Tuesday, but Mount Union defeated Juniata Valley 3-1. Dylan Gearhart allowed just four hits to Juniata Valley.

Mount Union got things moving in the second inning, when Kobe Hand singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Gearhart earned the win for Mount Union. He allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Quinn Zinobile took the loss for Juniata Valley. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out four.

Matt Harshbarger went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Mount Union in hits.

Gabe Brower led Juniata Valley with two hits in three at bats.
