Penns Valley has hired two new coaches to replace the revered veteran girls basketball and boys soccer coaches at the school’s board of directors’ meeting on Wednesday, June 19th.

Terrance Green is taking over for Karen McCaffrey and Ken Gore is taking the reins from our only coach in the history of boys soccer, Scott Case. Both McCaffrey and Case have been at the school for over 20 years.
Terrance Green will be in his second year teaching Penns Valley. Last year he was an assistant to Coach McCaffrey, as well as serving as a varsity assistant on the softball team. He teaches health and physical education in the high school.
Althouse on Green: “In his short time here he has impressed people all across the District with his dedication to the students and his involvement in student life. He brings head coaching experience and a drive to keep learning. Along with junior varsity coach, Katie Kurtz, we feel we have two excellent role models at the varsity level for this new chapter for our program.”
Ken Gore spent the last 8 seasons as the school’s junior high coach.
Althouse on Gore: “Coach Gore brings a wealth of experience and maturity to the position. With veteran JV coach Brian Markle we believe we have a team of coaches who can speed up the learning curve of our extremely young team. With no seniors on the current roster, we need coaches who can focus on growth and development to get this team prepared for new territory.”
