Bryan Bernheisel Scores Zimmers Service Center/ULMS Victory At Clinton County Motor Speedway!

Lock Haven, PA- The Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS late model series invaded Clinton County Motor Speedway Friday July 19. The Smith Excavating & Construction late model divers were waiting to join their super counter parts. When the night was through a central PA racer stood in Victory Lane.
Jonestown’s Bryan Bernheisel outlasted the traveling drivers to score a $3,000/30 lap win. In a race slowed just two times for caution, Bernheisel found a way to win. The Lazer Chassis driver started  on the pole and led the first eight laps before ULMS regular Alex Ferree took over. Bernheisel ran a solid second place effort while the “A Train” driver from Saxonburg remained in front. A lap 10 caution for current and all time winner Max Blair, who suffered mechanical problems, relined Bernheisel on Ferree’s back bumper for the restart. Action resumed with Ferree out front and Bernheisel in hot pursuit. The pair raced through lapped traffic. It appeared Ferree would go the distance for the win. That changed in turn four on lap 25. Ferree pulled out of the grove with a flat tireBernheisel retook the lead and Ferree rejoined the field at the rear. Bernheisel was too strong for runner up driver Coleby Frye of Dover and the #119 driver parked it in the winners circle. Frye settled for second with Dylan Yoder third. Jim Yoder came home fourth with Matt Cochran fifth. Sixth through tenth were New York driver Michael Wonderling Jr., Devin Hart, Mike Smith, Dave Brouse Jr., and Andrew Wylie. Bernheisel’s margin of victory was 1.135 seconds over Frye.
Heats were won by Bernheisel, Ferree and, Frye. There were 19 cars.
The Gary’s Motor Mart/Laurel Highlands/IMCA sprint cars returned to action  with current point leader Scott Lutz taking the win. The Jonestown, PA driver started sixth. Young Jeff Weaver, of Lock Haven, Pa started second and led the first two laps before giving way to Reed Thompson of Petersburg. Thompson controlled the race through lap 15 while Lutz followed the leader and Weaver thru lap nine. Lutz moved into second spot and, set sight on the leader. Lutz got by Thompson on lap fifteen and, went on to score his second CCMS victory of the season. Thompson settled for second with Ken Duke Jr., third. Dylan Proctor was fourth with Cale Reigle fifth. Sixth through tenth were Dakota Schweikart, Rynn Lynn, Dale Schweikart, Jacob Gamola and Weaver. Proctor, Gamola and Lynn won qualifiers. There were 23 cars.
The Weavers Radiator & Auto Sales/Jay Coder Excavating & Trucking 270 micro sprint feature was special for young Timmy Bitner. The 13 year old racer from Beech Creek won his first ever feature after starting on the pole. Bitner held off some of the region’s finest micro racers including Jeff Weaver who finished second. Apollo, PA’s Sean McAndrew was third with Denny Rinehimer fourth. Troy Whitesel was fifth. Rounding out the top ten were Nick Whitesel, Ivan Johnson, Skeetz Hockenbrock, Kyler Stahl and, Dan Wertman. Weaver and Troy Whitesel won qualifiers.
Bitner led the entire way. One caution slowed the field on lap ten for Tom Quiggle who eventually finished the race, one lap down.
The 15 lap Millers Automotive Machine pro stock feature was won by Dan Condo. Noah Jensen and Condo battled for the led through the second half of the feature. Jensen ended up second with Kevin VanAmburg third. Will Brunson led the first five laps of the feature and finished fourth. Brad Myers was fifth. Sixth thru tenth were Robert Tressler, Rich Fye, Chris Snyder, Wayne Shaffer and John Schoch. Heat races were won by Jensen and Brunson. There were 12 cars.
Action continues Friday July 26 when Summer Championship races will be held for the limited late models, IMCA sprint cars, pro stocks, 600 micro sprints and TJ Shooters Sports Bar 4 cylinder stock cars. Gates open at 5 with racing set for 7:30. Regular admission rates apply.
Wednesday July 31 the speedway will be in action during the 47th annual Clinton County Fair. The 270 & 600 micro sprints are featured that night.
