Clinton County Motor Speedway Creates Racer’s Point Fund For 2019

Lock Haven, PA- When the 2019 Clinton County Motor Speedway Banquet concludes, racers will be taking home a little extra cash next winter.

Speedway management is working hard to improve the total racing experience at the fairgrounds oval. A racers point fund is one more way to thank teams for their participation at the high banked oval. 

Through a lot of hard off season work, five of the tracks six regular classes have a point fund sponsor secured. Management continues to speak with prospective marketing partners for all classes and   other promotions expecting to make the 2019 season the best in recent memory. 

Smith Excavating & Construction LLC of Renova, PA is the title sponsor of the limited late model racers in 2019. Owned by LLM racer Mike Smith, the company serves a 200 mile radius from their facility offering emergency services while also performing residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal services. The management and staff are  known for efficient work, launching projects with the right plan, meeting project milestones and, finishing on time and under budget. IMCA sprint cars will be a regular feature in 2019 and an iconic sprint car name will support the class. 

Gary’s Motor Mart of Jersey Shore, former time car owner of the late Mitch Smith and others will be the title sponsor. 

The area business is owned by Vern Wasson, a retired successful racer and former Promoter of Clinton County Motor and Woodhull, NY Speedway’s in the past. The Lycoming County car dealer is the Lycoming County area’s premier used car outlet. Gary’s Motor Mart also offers  a full service auto repair facility along with tire sales and service. Pro Stock racers will compete under the Millers Automotive Machine Pro Stock banner this season. Long time owner/engine builder Phil Miller of Montoursville has been producing quality street and race engines since the business was established in 1994. Numerous wins and track titles have been scored with Miller produced engines over the year and there’s no expected end in sight. Miller can be reached at (570)-435-5960. Two are firms have teamed up to support the 270 micro sprint division. Car owner Jeff Weaver and racer Jay Coder are the new title sponsors. The class will be known as the Weaver’s Radiator & Auto Sales/Jay Coder Excavating & Trucking 270 micro sprint class. 

Weaver will also field several race cars at the 3/8thmile oval. Weaver’s business, known as Weavers Radiator and Auto Repair, is located at 5 East Peale Ave, Mill Hall, PA 17751. Jay Coder Excavating & Trucking offers all types of general excavating services from site preparation to finish plus dump truck service for any needs. They’re located at 703 Snydertown Road in Howard, PA. 18841. They can be reached at (814)-383-4214 and Facebook. Coder is also a racer competing regularly in the micro sprint class at the Mackeyville oval. 

A long time race supporter familiar to many racers has come on board as the front wheel drive, four cylinder stock car division sponsor. TJ Shooters Sports Bar of Danville, PA, a long time supporter of late model competitor Steve Campbell, will be the title presenter. The neighborhood bar, located off the beaten path, is known for reasonable process and delicious cocktails. Typical tavern food is on the menu.  Hours of operation are 3pm-2amMonday-Friday2pm-2am Saturday-Sunday. Normally there’s a DJ Friday and Saturday night from 10-2. Currently management is seeking a 600 micro sprint title sponsor as well as other special event presenters. Several have already been secured and will be announced shorty. The season opener is just around the corner. A practice session is set for Friday April 5 at 7 pm. General admission is free. Pit admission is 20 dollars.

The first green flag competition is one week later, April 12 at 7:30. The limited late models are joined by the Gary’s Motor Mart IMCA sprint cars, Millers Automotive Machine pro stocks, Weavers Radiator and Auto Repair/Jay Coder Excavating & Trucking 270 micro sprints & 600 micro sprints. 

The same program will be presented April 19.

April 26 action finds the 600 micro sprints with the night off. Making their first appearance of the season will be the TJ Shooters Sports Bar 4 cylinder front wheel drive stock cars.
