Grace Prep girls tie DuBois Christian at two

It was a very evenly matched contest Thursday as the Grace Prep girls soccer team tied DuBois Christian 2-2.

In the 1st Half Scoring, DuBois Christian’s Rorrie Maynard started the scoring off on an unassisted goal.

Grace Prep’s Emma Will tied things going into the intermission as she was assisted by Abigael Fisher.

DuBois Christian’s Colesy Brownlee led off the second half with the team’s final goal.

Will hit her second goal of the game as she was again assisted by Fisher to end the game scoring.

DuBois Christian held the advantage on shots on goal by a 21-11 margin. 

On corners, DuBois Christian led Grace Prep 3-0.

Grace Prep’s Makayla Ley led in goal with 16 clutch saves while DuBois Christian had seven.

“The contest was physical and pretty evenly matched.  Grace Prep’s first year keeper Mikaya Ley played a fantastic game,” said Grace Prep coach Jason Fisher. “The field was very soft from all the rain, but the rains held off.

Grace Prep and DuBois Christian will meet again later in the season.”

Grace Prep’s next game is September 18th at 3:30 p.m. versus Sunbury Christian in Sunbury.
