Grace Prep girls tops Calvary Christian

The Grace Prep girls soccer team started tough by defeating Calvary Christian 5-2 Thursday afternoon. 

Grace Preps Abigael Fisher got her season off to a sizzling start as she collected four of her team’s five goals.

However, teammate Abigail Galliano that got the first half scoring underway.

In the 9th minute,  Grace Prep Galliano found the back of the net, making it 1-0.

Less than a minute later, also in the 9th minute Grace Prep’s Fisher hit her first, upping the lead.

In the 15th minute, Fisher posted her second goal, securing a 3-0 advantage.

At the 17th minute Calvary Christian’s Lauren Peachey scored her team’s first, cutting it to 3-1.

As the team’s exited the halftime, Grace Prep was in the scorebooks again.

During the 45th minute Fisher collected the hat trick and put the lead back to three. 

Calvary Christian’s Kya Kuhstos scored at the 52nd minute, ending the scoring for the visitors.

In 80th minute, Fisher collected her final goal en route to the 5-2 victory.

Shots on Goal were dominated by Grace Prep with 17 (8 came from Abigael Fisher) while Calvary Christian had 10. 

Grace Prep’s Makayla Ley finished with eight saves while the Calvary Christian had 13. 

Corner kicks were led by Calvary Christian 2-1.

Grace Prep’s record is now at one win and one loss.

Grace Prep’s next game is September 7th at 3:30 p.m. versus Great Commission in Altoona.
