Johnny Bouse Wins 20 Lap Pro Stock Championship Race At Clinton County Motor Speedway

Lock Haven, PA Johnny Bouse dominated the 20 lap Phil Miller Racing Engines/Campbell Race Technology pro stock championship Friday nightJuly 6 at Clinton County Motor Speedway.

Bouse started on the outside front row and grabbed the lead from Al Rishel on lap two. One in front, Bouse led the remainder of the way and held a .822 second advantage over Noah Jensen at the finish. Kevin Vanamburg was third followed  by Rishel and Will Brunson. The remainder of the top ten  included Shaun Lawton, Nathan Stroup, Brandon Moser, Buck Mills and Brad Myers.

 

Heats for the 17 car field were won by Mills and Tommy Dawson.

 

G & R Excavating and Demolition of Tyrone also posted additional money for the pro stock main event.

 

The Laurel Highlands 305 Sprint Series visited the oval with 20 cars pit side. Scott Lutz chased a determined Nathan Gramley the first 13 laps before finally passing Gramley for the lead. Once in front, Rishel opened a comfortable lead, which he held until the finish. Ken Duke got by Gramley for second spo,t on the white flag lap, to finish second. Duke had no chance to catch Lutz who dominated the field winning by 2.755 seconds over Duke. Gramley finished third followed by Ray Sheetz and Reed Thompson. Sixth through tenth were Ryan Lynn, Dakota Schweikart, Tyler Cochran, Joe Davis and Jacob Gomola.

 

Heat races were won by Davis, Cochran and Kyle Ganoe.

 

In limited late model action Andrew Yoder scored a popular win over George Dixon Jr. Yoder took the lead on lap two from Joe Lusk who started second. Yoder’s margin of victory was 0.877 seconds. Dixon, Luke Hoffner and Lusk enjoyed a spirited battle for second through fourth positions with Hoffner settling for third. Lusk rode home fourth with Jim Yoder fifth. Sixth through tenth were Kevin Probst, JR Toner, Matt Cochran, Mike Smith and Gary Mellott.

 

Dixon and Hoffner won heat races.

 

The 270 micro sprints endured a caution filled event. Jeff Weaver was the winner over Ben Stolz. Bob Sanso finished third with Mason Peters fourth. Brittany Erlsten was fifth. Sixth through tenth were Gary Keister, Lance Spotts, Nicolas Whitesel, Kyle Stahl and Jess Sanso.

 

Heat races were won by Stolz, Spotts and Weaver.

 

Josh Beamer won the 600 micro sprint feature over Jake Hummel. Jeff Weaver finished third with Jeff Gyuina fourth. Shelby Rowles was fifth. Sixth through tenth were Travis Keiser, Chad Waite, Bob Sanso, Dariek Humenay and Jay Coder.

 

Heat races were won by Hummel and Weaver.

 

Action continues Friday July 13 when the Laurel Highland Sprint Series returns to the speedway. They will be joined by the limited late models, 270 and 600 micro sprints plus the front wheel drive four cylinder stock cars. Gates open at 5 pm with hot laps at 7. The first green flag is scheduled to fall at 7:30.
