Juniata boys blanks Susquenita

The Juniata boys soccer team was strong once again as it faced and defeated Susquenita 5-0.

“The past two games have offered a great opportunity to play a lot guys off the bench and reward some of the freshman and sophmores that have been working very hard at practice with some varsity experience,” said Indians coach Jared Byler. “The entire team played well and our coaching staff was very impressed with their level of concentration and focus given the weather conditions the past two days.

In the first half, Juniata got its scoring starting with Chase Lehman’s goal at 12:51. Picking up the Assist was John Whitesel.

Minutes later Tad Shellenberger put her team up by two when he scored at the 17:56 mark. His Assist came from Josh Whitesel.

Shellenberger picked up his second goal at the  25:54 mark, upping it to 3-0 as the two teams went into the intermission. 

Second Half Goals were scored by 

Josh Whitesel at 7:09 with the Assist from Shellenberger. 

Rounding out the scoring was George Hazard with a 19:54 goal with the Assist going to Dawson Harper. 

Juniata led in shots on goal 21-1. They also held the advantage on 

Corner Kicks by a 7-2 margin.
