Juniata boys win the TVAA title in win over EJ

MIFFLINTOWN – A rivalry renewed.
One of the best rites of spring is when cross county rival Juniata and East Juniata meet up in any sport.
Wednesday, it was the track and field teams that took to the field and track.
It would be a great night for both the Juniata boys and girls teams as they finished with wins of 98-52 and 130-20, respectively.
The East Juniata boys battled hard but could not get the points it would need for the victory.
But on this day, the win for the Juniata boys meant a Tri-Valley League title with the victory.
Juniata opened the meet with a win in the 3200-meter relay team, posting a time of 9:45.3 while East Juniata finished with a 10:00.7.
The 110-meter hurdles went to the Tigers as John Moyer finished with a time of 17.2 and he also took the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.2.
Juniata’s Jeremiah Parson took top honors in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.67.
Teammate Garrett Baulblitz took first in the 1600- meter run with a time of 5:28.4. He also got the top nod in the 3200-meter run with a finishing time of 11:20.
The Tigers bounced back in the 400-meter run when Zach Fogle took the top spot with a time of 57.3.
Juniata took the 400-meter relay with a time of 48.5.
Ted Shellenberger took the top spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.2.
Zeb Ames took the 800-meter run for the Indians, finishing with a top time of 2:15.8.
East Juniata looked strong in the 1600-meter relay finishing with a time of 4:05.3.
In the javelin, Juniata took the top spot as Barrett Walters finished with a top throw of 140’ 7”.
The Indians also took the shot put when Wade Moore hit with a 39’10”.
Moore also hit first in the discus, launching the winning throw 130’.
East Juniata took both the long jump and high jump.
Blake Sheaffer landed atop of the long jump with a leap of 19’ 2 1/2”.
Gabriel Agostinho took the triple with a launch of 5’ 2”.
Juniata’s Jonathan Elliot took the triple with a finish of 31’ 1”.
Rounding out the boys winners was C.Lehman with a jump of 12’ in the pole vault.
Ion the girls side, it was all Juniata.
The Lady Tigers were only able to take two events. They were Clayre Guyer in the javelin with a throw of 96’11 and Kierstyn Fogle in the 400- run with a time of 1:07.
Juniata took home wins in the 3200-relay and 400-relay with times of 12:30.6 and 57.6, respectively.
The Tigers 1600-relay team took First in the event with a time of 4:52.2.
Juniata’s Zoe Burns took tops in the 100-dash(13.6) and the 200-dash(29.1).
Ellie Shepps went two-for-two, winning the 100-hurdles (17.5) and then the 300-hurdles(50.1).
Kaylyn Walters also finished with two First places as she took First in the 1600-run(7:15) and 3200-run (14:01.1).
In the field, the Indians got multiple wins from Madison Beward who won the pole vault (7’0) and discus (96’8”).
Also picking up multiple wins for Juniata in field events was Megan Brubaker who took top honors in the long jump(14’8 3/4”) and triple jump (32’ 31/2”).
Rounding out the winners were Julie Hart in the shot put(28’ 7 1/2”) and Sydney Sheaffer in the high jump (5’2”).
