Juniata track team sweeps Bearcats

Clean sweep!
Both Juniata boys and girls track and field teams were victorious Monday in their meet against Huntingdon.
The girls were 123-27 win over the Bearcats while the boys defeated Huntingdon 98-52.
In the score sheet, the Lady Indians dominated the first place nods winning all but one event.
In the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles with times of 16.81 and 49.27, respectively.
Teammate Zoe Burns also took two events winning both the 100-meter dash(13.8) and 200-meter dash (27.7).
Juniata also took two out of three of the relay events winning the 4×800 (11:46.62), 4×400(4:41.21).
Long distance runner Josie Swartz took home the 1600-Meter run(5:47) and the 400-meter run (1:07.6).
Makenzi Beward took top honors in the javelin with a throw of 90’7”. Beward also took the discus with a launch of 87’3”.
Kyli Dowling brought home the first in the 800-meter run (2:41).
Carli Walters was victorious won the 3200-meter run (12:57).
M. Kint took First in the shot put with a toss of 29’10 1/2”.
Sydney Sheaffer took the long jump and high jump events with jumps of 15’3” and 5’2”, respectively.
Rounding out the winners for the girls was Megan Brubaker in the triple jump with a leap of 33’7”.
On the boys’ side, the Indians has their fair share of top finishes as well.
Juniata picked up first place finishes in two of the three relay events as well.
The Indians got a time of 9:45.22 in the 4×00 and a 4:01.25 in the 4×400.
Carl Fowler took the 100-meters with a time of 11.47.
In the 1600-run Juniata got a first place from Zeb Ames with a time of 4:57.
Clay Yeager’s 11:32 was tops in the 3200-meter run.
In the field, Wade Moore top honors in both the shot put and discus with throws of 39’1 1/2” and 116’ 11”, respectively.
Johnathan Elliot got the top nod in the triple jump with a leap of 38’11”.
Rounding out the day was C. Lehman taking a first in the pole vault with a leap of 11’6”.
