Lady Eagles crowned Mountain League champs; tops Central

Call them the Champs!!

It’s been quite a historical season for the Bald Eagles girls soccer team this season.

Monday night, the Lady Eagles captured the Mountain League title defeating Central 4-1.

The title is the first in the school’s history!

“The weather was rough today, cold rain and mud, but the girls didn’t let that affect their play. It’s important to crash the net on days like this because you just never know what can happen and it really paid off with Falen scoring a brace,” said Bald Eagle Area Head Coach Jared Moore. “Allie Cowan scored a long goal on a great driven ball as well and Addie finished us off from a great pass from Falen. Rach made a great upper 90 save to keep a great shot out of our net. Everyone just continues to work hard.”

Offensively, Bald Eagles outshot Central 18-9.

Bald Eagle led off the scoring on a unassisted goal by Falen McHenry at 20:45.

Less than 10 minutes later, Allison Cowan posted an unassisted goal at 30:15.

McHenry posted her second goal of the evening on yet another unassisted goal at 41:46

Rounding out the scoring was Addison Proctor off a McHenry pass at 70:45.

Bald Eagle goalie Rachel Veneziano tallied eight saves while Central had 14.

BEA ups its record to 14-0-1 overall and 10-0-1 in Mountain League action.
