Lady Huskies explode for a 19-1 win over Carlisle

CARLISLE – The Mifflin County softball team brought more than just their A-game to the plate on Wednesday in their contest against Carlisle.

The Lady Huskies pounded out 15 hits en route to the 19-1 victory over the Thundering Herd in just a 4-inning affair.

Olivia Ahern posted a 4-hit contest as she had two doubles and two singles to pace the team.

What started out harmlessly in the first, the Huskies played just two when it headed into the second.

Offensively, the Lady Huskies exploded for seven runs in the second.

Mifflin County had five batters drive in runs in the inning. They were Alyssa Schnell, Ahern,Morgan Weston, Cassidy Wilson and Josalynn Kibe, giving their team a 9-0 lead.

From there, the Huskies plated five in the third and finally five in the fourth en route to the win.

Picking up the win was Weston notched the win while Carlisle’s Mikayla Cable suffered the loss.
