Little Mingoes win the TJ Screenprinting Bowl

LEWISTOWN – In probably one of the hardest hitting games of the night, the Little Mingoes Midgets went head-to-Head against Lewistown in the TJs Screenprinting Bowl last Saturday at Mitchell Field.

After an early lead, the Little Mingoes defeated a very spunky group, taking a 40-12 victory.

 After a scoreless first quarter, the Little Mingoes started to get its offense going after being held on three downs at the Panthers 19, Zach Smith took a hand off on a reverse and went on for a touchdown. The PAT put the Mingoes up 7-0 with 9 minutes left.

On the following kickoff, the Little Mingoes attempted on successful insides kick.

With the ball on the Panthers 43, the Little Mingoes went to the air when quarterback Jaden King found Zack Smith for the hook up and the 14-0 lead.

Defensively, the LittleMingoes got on the scoreboard when King stripped the ball from a Panther player and scored on a 50-yard run.

Deakon Schaeffer ended the first half scoring as he muscled through for the 27-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Lewistown got on the board on 43-yard run by Kyle Grant TD, cutting it to 27-6.

The Little Mingoes battled right back, scoring on its next offensive possession.

Schaeffer again got the call and blasted his way through for a 31-yard run to put his team back up 33-6 with 4:30 left in the third.

Lewistown refused to go out with out a fight as Haylen Yocum found a wide open Dupree Reed for the 20-yard touchdown reception, cutting it to 33-12.

But Jaden King’s 19-yard TD run put the game officially out of reach at 40-12.
