MC track athletes shine despite loss to CD East

The boys and girls list tight meets to CD East  tonight.  The boys lost 69-81 and the girls 67-82.  On the boys side, the night started off with a win in the 4×8 relay.  The team of Sheaffer, Harris, Macknair, and Phillips held off a feisty East team.  Macknair came up big again for the Huskies winning the 1600(4:41.02) and the 800(2:00.0).  Harris picked up the win in the 3200(10:04.52), while Logan Renninger came through in the field winning the shot(41’6.25”) and the discus(119’4”).  Hunter Packard won the javelin(119’9”), Joe Yearick won the pole vault(9’0”) and Caden Kauffman won the long Jump with a leap of 5’2”.
On the girls side, Ella Spriggle had a great night breaking her own school record in the 100 hurdles with a hand time of 15.38. She also picked up wins in the 300 hurdles(46.50) and high jump(5’0”).  Also winning big was Kiana Sechler.  Her mark of 16’0” brought home gold in the long jump, while her leap of 34’4” in the triple was good enough for first, and a new Junior record for Mifflin County.  Also winning for the girls were Skylar Ciccolini in the javelin(140’10”), Taylor Ciccolini in the pole vault(9’0”),and Layla Shimp in the discus(87’4”).
