Penns Valley girls explode for 10 goals against PO

Penns Valley provided the home crowd with a lot to cheer about as it drops Philipsburg-Osceola 10-0.

“Tonight was our last home game of the season and ended up being a great chance for all of the girls to showcase their hard work one last time at home.  We saw solid minutes from over 20 girls tonight.  Nikki Denger did a great job with her link up play as our center forward and got a hat trick of assists to go along with a goal,” said Penns Valley coach Andrew Beverly. “It was a just reward for Nikki with all of the hard work she’s put in this season.  We’re now coming down to the final stretch of the season and have a tough game on Saturday at Mifflinburg.  We’ll continue to work and hope to put in a strong performance.”

Hannah Montminy, who had had a hat trick, scored off an assist by Nikki Denger at 7:28.

Katie Martell followed with an assist by Denger at 12:17.

Maria Lovallo continued the scoring barrage on an assist by Denger at 18:11.

Anna Korman continued the ball rolling off an assist by Montminy at 38:59.

Hannah Denger was next thanks to an assist by Korman at 39:52.

Montminy notched goal number two off an assist by Leah Beben at 46:19.

Cate Goodwin off an assist by Montminy at 47:36.

PV – Montminy notched the hat trick thanks to a Morgan Smith assist at 50:00.

Nikki Denger scored off an assist by Hannah Denger at 56:30.

Rounding out the scoring was Martell thanks to an assist by Korman at 70:00.

Penns Valley outshot PO 32-1 and led in corners 2-0.

Saves: Penns Valley goalie Kylie Auman had one save while PO had 13.

Penns Valley’s record is now 7-7-1.  The Rams next game is on 10/12at Mifflinburg.
