PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY WELCOMES WORLD OF OUTLAWS LATE MODELS

PORT ROYAL, PA- Port Royal Speedway returns to action Saturday August 17 with one of the most highly anticipated races of 2019

The Morton Buildings World of Outlaw Late Models Series, presented by River Valley Builders, will join the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars for a two division showdown.

The Late Models will compete in a 40-lap, $10,000 to win event that will be filled with some of the best drivers in the country, along with many of the Port Royal River Valley Builders Super Late Model series regulars.

Brandon Sheppard enters the event with a 230-point advantage in the series standings over Ricky Weiss and he has won an astonishing 15 times this season. Sheppard is a former event winner at Port Royal, picking up a win in 2017. Third in the standings is Shane Clanton (-256), Chase Junghans (-258) is in fourth and Darell Lanigan (- 268) makes up the top five.

Weiss, a rookie on the Outlaw tour, is having one of the best seasons in recent memory for a Rookie of the Year contender and he currently leads Cade Dilliard in the rookie standings by 358 points.

Dylan Yoder leads the charge from the River Valley Builders local competitors vying for the upset of the traveling series and he currently holds a 350 point advantage over Andy Haus in the point stadings, with Jeff Rine (-570), Nick Dickson (–820) and Mike Lupfer (-1050) rounding out the top five.

Other past Outlaw Late Model winners at the track were Darrell Lanigan (2007), Clint Smith (2008) and Mike Marlar (2018).

For the Late Models, it will be 100 points show up points toward the Speedway track championship standings.

In the Weikert’s Livestock Sprint Cars, A.J Flick comes into the weekend looking to back up his impressive $12,000 payday for winning the Dream Race. The win was his first of the season at the Juniata oval and his second career triumph.

Defending track champion and 3-time winner this season, Logan Wagner, currently holds a 365 point advantage over second place Dylan Cisney. Flick (-635), TJ Stutts (- 645) and Blane Heimbach (-705) fill out the top five.

The Sprint Cars will be racing for $4000 and will take part in dual heats, where passing points will help set the feature events starting lineup.

For those fans whop cannot attend, racing activities will be available via www.Dirtvision.com with either a single day purchase or part of the World of Outlaws Late Model Fast Pass. The Sprint Car portions of the event will also be shown via this broadcast.

Gates open at 4pm with racing to begin at 7pm.
