St. Joseph tops Harmony In boys hoop action
Saint Joseph’s jumped out to an early 11-0 lead behind a few fast break buckets and a Cameron Khoza three. After a timeout, United rallied to cut the margin to 15-13 at the end of one.
The second quarter was all Wolves however, as SJ piled on 24 points behind the hot shooting of Khoza and a balanced attack from Matt Steyers, Ryan Peachey and Jack Mangene. SJ held United to just 5 points in the period to take a 39-18 halftime lead.
The third quarter was much of the same as the Wolves continued their hot shooting and pressure defense. The score at the end of three quarters read 60-25. Cameron Khoza who had career highs with 6-threes and 24 points, sat out the 4th quarter.
The final score: 69-39. Leading scorers: Khoza-24, Mangene-18, Peachey-9, Steyers-9. SJ improves their record to 7-4, going 3-0 this week and looking to keep it going against Harmony on Monday.
