Suydam selected as new MC field hockey coach

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Ashley Suydam as our new Head Field Hockey Coach for Mifflin County High School.

 

Mrs. Suydam graduated from Belleville Mennonite School in 2002 where she lettered in Varsity Field Hockey four years. She continued playing Field Hockey at Eastern Mennonite University. She graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Coach Suydam was a field hockey official in 2006 and was then hired as the Assistant Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Indian Valley High School in 2007.  She was also hired as an Elementary Education Teacher in the Mifflin County School District in 2007.  She continued coaching off and on for 5 years until she began a new job as manager of Whitehall General Store.

 

Coach Suydam, “Field Hockey has been a passion of mine for many years.  I am so excited to be a part of the Mifflin County Field Hockey Program again and am grateful for the strong foundation on which I plan to build.  I hope to continue the tradition of hard work and discipline while emphasizing teamwork and positivity. I feel fortunate to have this opportunity to follow in the footsteps of former Head Coaches Tish Maclay and Courtney Kanagy.”

 

Players, Parents/Guardians are invited to meet Coach Suydam on Tuesday, April 9th at 6:00 pm in room A110 at MCHS.

Coach Suydam resides in Belleville with her husband Jeremy and two sons Jack and Ross.
