Tough night for Huskies on the hardwood

It was a tough night on the hardwood Wednesday for both the Huskies boys and girls basketball teams as both suffered losses.

On the girls’ side, the Lady Huskies fell to Altoona 67-33.

Leading the way offensively for Mifflin County was Hannah Aumiller with eight while her teammate Hanna Rittenhouse with nine. Two players, Brianna Bodtorf and Molly Wagoner with six.

Bridgid Fox and Carranda Perea led the way for Altoona with a 14-point and 17-point effort on the night.

Also picking up double-digit scoring were Stevie Webber(12) and Becca Dull(10).

The Mountain Lions opened the first quarter with a 26-13 scoring run, setting the pace.

Altoona swept all four quarters of play en route the victory.

Altoona 64, Mifflin County 48

The young Mifflin County boys team showed that it can compete with anyone, gave Altoona a tough fight before falling to the Mountain Lions 64-48.

Xavier Vega led the Huskies on the scoring column, posting a 15-point effort. 

Also finishing in double-digits was Noah Wright with 12.

JJ Crockett led the way for the visitors with a 13-point effort while teammate Kurt VonColin finished with 11.

Despite trailing for most of the game, the Huskies battled back in the fourth, with pride on the line, outscored the Mountain Lions 19-18.
