Bellefonte Wrestlers Win over P-O

It was good to the last match.

It was nail-biting time for both Philipsburg and Bellefonte wrestling fans as each opened the 2013 season against each other at the Bellefonte High School gymnasium.

The Mounties stacked up a 15-0 advantage, but the Red Raiders battled back to take a slim 31-27 lead going into the final match of the evening.

Bryce Bennett upped the Mounties’ lead to 15-0 when he outlasted Erin with the right 3-2 at 106.

Veteran grappler Luke Leathers brought his team back by making fast work of Nathan Quick, 54 seconds into the match.

From there, Bellefonte won the next three in a row to take a slim 16-15 lead. Picking up the win for the red Raiders were Brock Port, Chase Gardner and Trevor Coul.

Phillipsburg’s Caleb reversed the Mounties’ fortune taking back the lead.
