Burnham Bulldog Pee Wees top Derry Decatur

In the opening game of the Central Keystone football and Cheer League Championship weekend, the Burnham Bulldogs Pee Wees took care of Derry Decatur 34-8.

The Bulldogs waisted little time scoring, posting a touchdown the first time they touched the ball.

Starting on the 50, Burnham drove down the field going on a 5-play drive that was capped off by a Cayden Breon 8-yard run and with the successful PAT, the ‘Dawgs’ had a 8-0 advantage.

Breon finished the day with 79 yards rushing.

As the first quarter started to wind down, the Bulldogs offense was at it again.

This time Landon Bowen called his own number and rolled to a 28-yard touchdown run to put his team up 16-0.

Bowen finished his day with a game high 128-yards rushing.

The “Boys in Blue” picked you a fumble on the Cyclones next possession and gave it back to its sizzling offense.

Breon notched his second score of the game, blazing his way to a 15-yard TD run, upping the lead to 22-0 with 7:10 left in the half.

Derry Decatur’s Charles Hampton brought his team back as he scored on a 11-yard scamper, cutting it to 22-8 as the two teams went into the intermission.

After the half, the line of scrimmage was controlled by the Bulldogs, with the exception of trying to contain Hampton who was very disruptive to the Burnham offense at times.

But with 6:04 to go in the third, the Bulldogs went airborne when Bowen found Zach Moore for a 39-yard TD hook up, upping the lead to 28-8.

With time running out in the contest, the Bulldogs added some insurance points when Bowen scored on a 12-yard TD run, to finish the scoring at 34-8.
