MILL HALL – The rematch.

In their first meeting of the year the Bellefonte volleyball team rallied to take a 3-2 win over Central Mountain on the Red Raiders won home court.

Wednesday night, it was the Wildcats turn to host the second game.

Central Mountain came out and ready to even the season series and did just that defeating the Red Raiders 3-0.

The scores were 25-10, 25-15 and 25-10.

“We wanted to come out and prove we could put a team away strong. We played strong. We usually tend to let up at the end,” Central Mountain Coach Scott Garman said. “We didn’t do that tonight. We were able to push through in the game and push the whole way. I’m very proud of them.”

In the first game, the two battled back and forth as the Wildcats took an early 4-3 advantage.

Central Mountain got a service point from Mallory Eck.

Bellefonte’s early point cane from Tayla Miller.

“Central Mountain came out very strong. I don’t have too many complaints about how we played. Probably none,” said Bellefonte coach Teri Kerr. “They played hard they were where they needed to be. It just didn’t fall our way this time.”

Central Mountain started to add to its lead after a side out and two consecutive service points, highlighted by a dink by Felicia Baney in the front row.

Both teams exchanged side outs and Central Mountain tried to chip out some more points to add to the lead.

Evie Rembold rolled off three consecutive service points, two of the three were aces.

Bellefonte cut it to 12-6 with a side out, but the Wildcats were just getting started as Abby Brinker added three more service points upping the lead to 16-6.

After five consecutive side outs, Bellefonte got a point from the line by McKenna Port.

But the Wildcats got the ball back leading 19-10 and finished the game off by a run of six service points to take the opening contest 25-10.

Both teams battled for half the contest in the second game. In a contest that would highlight 12 side outs early on resulting in a 10-10 tie.

But Brinker gave her team the spark they needed. Two of her three service points were aces, putting the Wildcats out ahead 13-10.

Bellefonte stayed in the game at 13-11.

Two more service points by Eck would stretch the lead to 16-11.

But the Red Raiders continued to battle, getting the ball back on a side out.

Leading 17-13, Central Mountain added two more points to put the home team up 19-13 on service points by Abby Lee.
