Clutch under pressure! Mc baseball team rallies late to earn playoff bid with win over SC

They saved the best for last!

With a playoff berth at stake against rival State College, the Mifflin County baseball team saw its chances growing slimmer and slimmer.

Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the seventh, the Huskies battled back to capture the victory and earn a much deserved playoff spot, 6-5.

Brycen Dobson picked up the win after throwing just six pitches after relieving Tristin Lockett.

Tyreen Smalley finished with one hit and an RBI.

Colby Bodtorf and Brian Yetter both notched two hits in the contest. Bodtorf had an RBI and Yetter had three.

State College picked up a run in the third, one in the fourth, another in the sixth and two in the seventh, putting the pressure on the Huskies.

In an inning that can catapult a team’s confidence, the Huskies battled back.

The comeback was highlighted by a bases loaded double.

In the end, the two might have a chance to renew acquaintances in the District 6 playoffs.
