CM volleyball falls to Tyrone

LOCK HAVEN – In their final home game of the year, the Central Mountain Wildcats Volleyball team celebrated their four seniors, Destiny Carter, Skylar Falls, Madison Knepp and Jenny Skow.

The group battled a feisty Tyrone team that was looking to spoil the Senior night festivities.

Despite falling 3-0, the Wildcats battled from first serve until the final point, in a 25-18, 25-18, 25-12 contest.

“I thought we played pretty even up with them. I thought they served better. I thought that was the difference,” Central Mountain coach Scott Garman said. “That was mostly the case all night. Their servers gave them an advantage. They made it tough for us to handle. But I’m very proud of how the girls played tonight.”

In the game of evening, the Eagles took the early advantage going up 6-2 thanks to service points from Ebonne Rice and Kylee Goodling.

But the Wildcats quickly cane back to take the lead behind of the serving of Abby Brinker as she rattled off six consecutive points in the rally.

Highlighting the run was an ace. When Brinker was done, Central Mountain led 9-6.

The “Blue and White” continued to keep the lead and increased the lead to 14-10 before Tyrone would call a time out.

Tyrone’s time out seemed to settle the players as the rallied back to tie things and then take the lead on seven service points by Rice, making it 18-15.

Central Mountain cut it to within two points as Loni Duck places two consecutive aces, cutting it to 18-17.

But Tyrone rounded things out by outscoring the Wildcats 7-1 the rest of the way.

In the second game, the battle started right away as the two exchanged side outscearly in the contests, the only service points came from Rice so the Eagles held a 5-8 advantage.

However, Skow cane up big on the service line, tying things at eight.

But from there, Tyrone took the lead and was able to hold off a late run by Central Mountain to win the second game 25-18 as well.

In the final game of the evening, the Golden Eagle got out to the quick start and never looked back as it had its offense going strong en route to the 25-12 victory.

The win gave Tyrone the 3-0 victory
