Agrazal throws seven scoreless innings as Altoona avoids Akron sweep

AKRON, Ohio – The Altoona Curve topped the Akron RubberDucks, 2-1, in ten innings on Thursday night to salvage the series finale at Canal Park.

The Curve (7-5) avoided a four-game sweep with the road trip-ending win over the RubberDucks (7-6).

In the top of the tenth, Cole Tucker legged out an infield single to bring home Pablo Reyes against Akron reliever Jordan Milbrath (Loss, 0-1) to put the Curve ahead, 2-1.

In the bottom of the inning, the RubberDucks used a sacrifice bunt to move Bobby Bradley to third with one out, but Yeudy Garcia (Save, 1) struck out Connor Marabell and worked a groundout from Tyler Krieger to end the game.

Dario Agrazal worked seven scoreless innings and allowed four hits with one walk and three strikeouts in his third start of 2018. He has combined to throw 13 scoreless innings in two outings against Akron this year. Agrazal was the first Curve starter to work through seven innings this season.

Jason Martin tripled with one out later scored on a two-out single by Reyes.

Akron tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning against Curve reliever Geoff Hartlieb (Win, 2-0). Dorssys Paulino reached on a one-out double and came around to score on a single by Ka’ai Tom.

Tucker finished the night 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Reyes went 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
