Derry Decatur outlasts EJ in Liberty Bowl

In the opening day of the Central Keystone Cheer and Football League Bowl Games, the Liberty Bowl proved to be one that was not for the faint of heart as the match up between Derry Decatur and East Juniata Pee Wees was a shoot out with the Cyclones coming out on top 32-24.
East Juniata got the scoring started on its opening possession.
Davis Hart got his team on the board when he got loose in the secondary and cruised to a 52-yard TD run, giving EJ a 6-0 advantage.
On their next possession, the Tigers up its lead to 12-0 when Hart got the call and rambled away for a 37-yard TD run.
Hart had over 200-yards on the ground for the Tigers.
But Derry Decatur would not stay down for long.
It took only on play for the Cyclones to put themselves back I the game.
Braylon Smith got loose and blazed his way down the field for a 59-yard TD rush, cutting it to 12-7 with 5:36 left in the second quarter.
After holding the EJ offense, Derry Decatur picked up its first lead of the game.
Smith scored on a 40-yard punt return for a TD, leading 13-12.
However, the lead would be only momentarily as East Juniata took back the lead two-plays later.
Once again, Hart got the call and did not disappoint, scoring on a 56-yard TD run, making it 18-13.
East Juniata carried that lead into the second half.
Things got interesting on the first play from scrimmage as Trey Smith rumbled for a 39-yard touchdown run, giving the Cyclones back the lead 19-18.
Derry Decatur extended its lead to eight late I. The third quarter when Braylon Smith scored again from 57-yards out, 26-18.
In the final stanza, East Juniata cut the lead to two on another long Hart TD run, cutting it to 26-24.
However, the Cyclones added a late touchdown and held on defensively for the nail biting victory.
