East Juniata boys blank Juniata 2-0

COCOLAMUS – Round two.

This week it was the East Juniata boys soccer team to host cross county rival Juniata.

It was hard fought 80-minute battle with only two goals scored throughout the contest.

But that would be more than enough for the Tigers as they picked up a goal in the first and in the second en route to the 2-0 victory over the Indians.

Cy Fronk got the scoring started as he blasted a shot from the 18 at 23:36 left in the half.

For most of the first half, the ball stayed between the 18’s as each tried to take the momentum.

However, after the final 17 minutes proved to be more of a strong defensive effort for both teams.

EJ’s rematch with Juniata on EJ soil proved to be successful.

In the second, Cade Brubaker scored the second goal for the Tigers off Gannon Ryan’s corner kick.

East Juniata outshot Juniata 7-6 and led in corner opportunities by a 3-0 margin.

Juniata goalie Andrew Hunter collected two saves while East Juniata goalie Johnny Dessin also had two.
