East Juniata FH tips Midd-West in noon-conference battle

Chalk up another win for the hardworking East Juniata Field hockey team as they defeated Midd-West 3-2.

In the First Half,

East Juniata got started when Kyli Dowling off an assist by Karah Goss at 23:43.

Goss later scored on a Kenzie Hoke assist at 21:05.

Karli Owens then scored off a Dowling pass with 14:31showing, taking a 3-0 advantage.

The girls played a great game, and played two good halves!  They came out and wanted to win, and it showed.  The girls were aggressive the whole game and played together.  There were great passes and everyone worked together.  Shanna and I are very proud of the girls with getting the win!  After halftime, Midd West scored their second goal, and were trying hard to get the tying goal, but my girls fought hard and didn’t let them tie it up,” said East Juniata coach Harly Straub said. “It was great to see the girls play the hockey that we all know they can play.  We look to keep up the play Thursday when we travel to Southern Huntingdon for our last game of the year.”

MIdd-West got on the board when Brenna Brown scores on a Delaney Klingler assist at 9:10.

In the Second Half, Midd-West ended the scoring when Karissa Landis was assisted by Brown at 19:45.

Midd-West outshot East Juniata 13-8 while the Tigers led in corners 6-5.

EJ goalie Emily Carolus tallied 11 saves while the Mustangs Aleah Gemberling & Paris Seibel has five.

In the JV Game, Midd West topped the Tigers 4-2.

Overall record for East Juniata is 3-13-1, and a TVL League record of 0-8.  

EJ’s  next game is Thursday when we travel to Southern Huntingdon County at 4:00 p.m..
