East Juniata field hockey falls to Line Mountain

Tuesday night the Line Mountain girls field hockey team defeated East Juniata 4-0.

In the First Half, Line Mountain’s Brooke Herb picked up an assist fromTeague Hoffman at 3:44 left in the first half.

In the Second Half, Line Mountain’s Ashely Schreffler started things off as she got an assist by Samantha Snyder at 22:44.

With the clock winding down, Marissa Campbell scored off a pass from Jenna Brezgel 12:19, making it 3-0.

Hoffman rounded out the scoring with a goal with 6:21 left. 

Line Mountain outshot East Juniata 8-4 and led in corners 10-9. Saves EJ’s Emily Carolus had five saves LM 4 (Olivia Smeltz)

East Juniata’s overall record is 0-9, And a TVL record of 0-5.

East Juniata’s next game is tomorrow Wednesday, October 3rd against Newport at 4:00.

“The girls played great tonight.  This is the best I have seen them play since our very first game of the season,” said East Juniata coach Harley Straub. “The girls passed the ball to each other and worked their way up the field to our offensive area.  We need to get quicker on our offensive corner shots and following all of our shots.  We will look to keep playing this pace tomorrow when we take on Newport.”
