East Juniata tops Southern Huntingdon In weekend action

The East Juniata girls basketball team rebounded from a loss to Bellefonte Friday with a convincing 46-34 victory over Southern Huntingdon in the Juniata tip-off Tournament Saturday.

Leading the way offensively was Alyssa Robinson who posted 18 points.

Teammate Thea Neimond chopped in with a 10-point effort.

In the first quarter, the East Juniata offense outscored the Lady Rockets 12-7.

But Southern Huntingdon tallied back in the second taking the lead outscoring the Tigers 12-6 in the period. Giving the Rockets the lead at the intermission, with a score of 19-18.

East Juniata took back the lead in the third, outscoring the Rockets once again by a 15-12 margin, putting the Lady Tigers in the drivers seat heading into the final stanza.

With the momentum and home court advantage, East Juniata would keep the lead for good, en route to the 46-34 victory.

Next game Tuesday vs Millersburg.
