Lady Huskies dominate Carlisle
What a good way to start the week.
The Mifflin County girls basketball team rebounded from a recent loss to take home a 52-34 victory over a visiting Carlisle team Monday night at the Mifflin County high school gym.
Molly Wagoner finished the game with a game-High 21 points in the victory.
Also having a strong night offensively for the Lady Huskies was Brianna Bodtorf with 16.
Just missing hitting the double-digit Mark was Fern Selfies with eight.
In the opening period, Mifflin County’s defense came out and held Carlisle to four points while its offense posted an 11-point effort.
Wagoner led the way with seven.
Both teams went toe-to-toe with each other as they both tallied 13 in the second half.
Mifflin County took a 24-17 advantage going into the half.
In the third, the defense continued to be tough on their opponent once again holding them to four points.
The Lady Huskies posted a 13-point effort to extend its lead to 37-21.
Bodtorf finished the period with a team high seven.
In the final stanza, Mifflin County outscored Carlisle 15-13 en route to the victory.
