Lady Trojans offense explodes for 19-run contest against Mo Valley

The runs came in droves Tuesday as the Mount Union girls’ softball team exploded for 19 runs en route to the 19-2 win over Moshannon Valley.

Offensively, the Lady Trojans pounded out 18 hits while committed just two errors.

They also had the long ball working as Kadyn Crisswell, Morgan Brumbaugh and Karrigan Woodward smacked round-trippers.

Offensively, Crisswell led the way with a 4-for-5 effort along with four RBIs.

Brumbaugh and Woodward both finished with three hits apiece. Brumbaugh had three RBIs while Woodward had one.

Rounding out the Lady Trojans multiple hitters were Minerva Sheeder, McKenna Shields and Payton Low.

Mount Union led off with a 7-run first inning and continued to roll with six in the second, one in the third and fourth and then four in the fifth while holding Mo-Valley to just two runs in the mercy rule, 5-inning contest.
