MC swimmers finish with strong performances against Trinity

The Mifflin County swim team welcomed a well seasoned Trinity team Thursday at their home pool at the Juniata Valley YMCA.

Though the Huskies battled hard throughout but they fell in both boys and girls action.

The girls fell 108-62 while the young boys team fell 123-30.

On the girls end, the Lady Huskies places second in the women’s 200-yard medley.

The team of Ella Stuck, Hannah Bonson, Macy Becker and Morgan Robinette finishes with a time of 2:05.06.

Bonson finished with a second place nod in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.10.

Robinette also had a strong outing starting with a second in 200-yard IM with a time of  2:35.00.

Teammate Julia Montgomery finished third with a time 3:02.41.

In the 100-yard freestyle Robinette notched another second place finish with a time of 1:01.73.

In her first individual event, Stuck finished in third in the 50-yard freestyle with a finishing time of 27.33.

Stuck also finished strong the the “Ironman event”, the 500-yard freestyle with a third place time of 5:59.21.

Becker picked up Mifflin County’s first win of the meet as she took top honors in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:05.49.

She also finished a second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:21.43.

In the second relay event of the night, the 200-yard freestyle, Mifflin County finished a strong second with a time of 1:52.87. The team consisted of Stuck, Becker, Robinette and Bonson.

Bonson picked up the Lady Huskies second first place finish on the night as she topped everyone in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.17.

Mifflin County finished the night with a second in the 400-yard freestyle.

The team of Julia Montgomery, Grace Parks, Madeline Baisey and Jordyn Kile finished with a time of 4:51.34.

“We had a lot of great performances and good finishes tonight. They were very good competition for us tonight,” Mifflin County coach Gretchen Seyler said. “I enjoyed all the swims. I thought this one was a good one for us.”

The boys captured numerous place finishers of their own.

In the Men’s 200-yard medley relay, the pairing of Adam Clemson,Ethan Patkalitsky, Ethan Andrews and Calvin Ivie finished with a third place time of 2:19.79.

Andrews finished second in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:08.87.

Ivie placed third in his first individual event of the day with a mark of 29.93.

In the boys 200-yard freestyle relay, the group of Patkalitsky, Adam Chadick, Clayton Hetrick and Aiden Hendricks finished in third with a time of 2:23.78. 

Hendricks also finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke  with a time of 1:27.69.

In the boys 100 back stroke, Andrews finished a solid second with a finishing mark of 1:00.56.

The boys rounded out the evening with a second place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:47.76. 

Mifflin County will be back in action next Thursday as it will host Central Dauphin.
