Mifflin County girls return to winning ways; tops Big Springs

Back on track.

After a decent set of defeats, the Mifflin County soccer team bounced back and defeated Big Spring Saturday 7-1.

Mifflin County’s Ella Kammerer scored the Lady Huskies first goal at  7:25.

Lily Yoder led the way in the scoring department, posting a hat trick.

After a long back-and-forth defensive battle, Big Springs’ Taryn Mentzer tied the game on an unassisted goal at the 46:38 mark.

From there, the kid came off of the game as the Lady Huskies exploded offensively.

Aubrey Strohecker  started the scoring explosion on a penalty kick at 46:53.

Lily Yoder made it 3-1 on an unassisted goal at 53:18.

Again Yoder added to the Mifflin County lead with a goal at 54:01.

Sarah Henry thanks to an Ella Kammerer assisted added some insurance goals at 60:03.

Three-and-a-half minutes later, she posted Mifflin County’s sixth goal.

Yoder rounded the scoring, posting a hat trick at 67:17.

MC led the shots on goal side with 19 while Big Springs had three.

In corner kicks, Mifflin County tallied three.

In the save department,

MIfflin County’s goalie Bailey McNitt captured two saves while Big Springs Allyson Manley had 12.

The Lady Huskies are now 1-3-1 in the Mid-Penn abs 4-4-1 overall

Mifflin County’ next game is 9/25at home versus Hollidaysburg.

In the JV contest, Mifflin County won 1-0.
