Mifflin County Soccer Club crowns champions

 

LEWISTOWN – It came down to just two.

In the finals, the Belleville Thunder met the McVeytown Knights in the championship game.

Belleville advances after its 1-0 victory over Kish Bank.

After getting the ball to start, Belleville was denied by its strong back-third. 

The ball then went into the possession of a very high tempo offense of the Knights.

However, their drive would be stopped by the strong goalie play of the Thunder.

Belleville’s 7 sliced a shot that just caught the side of the goal, making it 1-0.

In the previous game, it was Kish versus Belleville Thunder.

McVeytown would try to answer taking it back into the back-third of the Thunder.

Stoltzfus almost made it 2-0 as he had an open shot but sent it up and over.

In the end, Belleville was able to squeeze out the 1-0 victory to win the title.

Belleville hit two high shots.

Belleville number 10 hit first goal, making it 1-0 by Sam Stoltzfus.

Both teams battled back and forth up the field looking for a shot.

Belleville hit another shot but was stopped by the goalie.

The Kish team showed an awesome defense, holding things to just a 1-0 deficit.

Win advances to the title tilt with McVeytown Knights.

In the younger division, Southside Hoagie defeated Barr Funeral Home to meet Lake Ford in the title tilt.

Scoreless at the half between these two tough teams.

Midway through the second half, Lake Ford picked up a goal, making it 1-0.
