Tomahawks head north for first post season battle

LEWISTOWN – 2014 proved to be a banner year for the Mifflin County Tomahawks as it finished the regular season with its best record in team history, 7-4.

In its final regular season contest, the Tomahawks went head-to-head against the Tri-City Braves, who sported a record of 7-3.

The game proved to be a warm up for both teams before the post season got underway.

Sporting a crowd of 301 people, the home fans were treated to a nail biter.

However, the Tomahawks fell just short in the contest, losing 33-30.

With its record of 7-3, it was the first winning season in team history as well as its first visit to the post season.

During the halftime of the contest, the Tomahawks honored the young athletes who all competed in the first annual punt, pass and kick contest that was held earlier in the day.

The Tomahawks will be back in action this Friday as it travels to DuBois.
