Turn on the Lights! Port Royal Speedway Returning to Night-Time Racing Camera & Autograph Night For Fans Pre-Race Plus Kids Bus Rides

PORT ROYAL, Pa- Port Royal Speedway will return under the lights for the first time this season following two successful weekends of daytime racing.

First, the track has decided to host a Test & Tune session for all divisions Thursday, April 4^thfrom 6-9 pm. Pit access is $25 with free grandstand admission for fans wishing to attend.

The Saturday April 6^th event will play host to the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars, the River Valley Builders Late Models and the first visit of the season for the Penns Valley Meat Market 305 Sprint Cars.

It will also be a Camera & Autograph night where General Admission ticket holders will be granted pre-race pit area access from 4-5 pm. Miss Port Royal Speedway, Jasmine Strawser, will also be handing out tickets at the main gate for Kids Bus Rides around the track that will occur periodically throughout the night

All gates open at 3 pm with racing slated for 6 pm

Last week, Ryan Taylor snapped a 5 year drought at ‘The Speed Palace’ and led flag to flag for his first Sprint Car victory of the 2019 racing season. Taylor will be looking to repeat his early season success as he attempts to track down current Point Leader and opening day winner, Dylan Cisney. Cisney is currently tied atop the standings with Anthony Macri with 655 points.

Jeff Rine picked up his first win of the season last week over a stacked field of Late Model competitors. However, Rine announced he would not be competing weekly at Port Royal this season so chances are we may have another first-time winner this weekend. Michael Norris, who picked up a win against the ULMS Series on opening weekend, currently sits atop the standings with a 5 point lead over Dylan Yoder.

Finally, the 305 Sprint Cars will be making their season debut and there will be a new point champion this season. Last year’s champion, Kyle Smith, will be making the move up to 410 racing and is expected to debut shortly. Meanwhile, a large field of drivers are anticipated to attempt to put their name in the history books. This will be the first of 9 visits for the series to the Juniata County oval in 2019.
