Juniata track splits meet with Susquenita

The Juniata track and field teams went head-to-head with Susquenita Tuesday night and finished the day with a split.

On the boys side, the Indians took a 87-63 victory while the girls fell in a close match 82-68.

Leading the way for the boys were numerous first place finishers.

In the 4×800 relay, Juniata finished with a 9:11.46.

In the 1600- meter run, the Indians got a first place nod from Garrett Baulblitz with a time of 4:44.78.

Baulblitz also took the 3200-meter run with a mark of 10:46.18.

Juniata took the second relay of the meet, winning the 4×100 with a time of 47.68.

Jeremiah Parson took the 400-meter dash with a time of :53.7. He also won the 200-meter dash with a mark of 24.59.

Wil Tyson took the 300-meter hurdles with a 37.04.

Juniata continued its track dominance with a top spot in the 800-meter run as Clay Yeager took the win with a 2:17.2

Garrett Meifert took the shot put with a throw of 35’ 4”.

Rounding out the boys win was Barrett Walters with a throw of 147’ 7”.

On the girls’ side, Juniata got a win from Anna Stroup in the 100-meter hurdles, sporting a time of 17.76.

Emily Houtz took the 1600-run with a top finishing time of 6:34.78.

Houtz was just as successful in the 3200-run winning with a time of 14:23.20.

In the 4×100, the Lady Indians took the win with a time of 53.69.

In the field, Juniata got a win in the triple jump and long jump. Megan Brubaker earned wins with jumps of 35’6” and 15’8 1/4”, respectively.

She also won the high jump with a mark of 4’ 4”.

Rounding out the winners for Juniata was Julie Hart in the shot put with a launch of 29’4 1/4”. 

Tigers swept by Wildcats

The East Juniata track and field team fell in action in its battle against Greenwood. The boys fell 114-36 and the girls fell 124-26.
