Juniata track sweeps Millersburg at home

MIFFLINTOWN – Bring out the brooms!

The Juniata track and field teams dominated Tuesday, defeating Millersburg in both boys’ and girls’ action.

On the boys side, the Indians defeated Millersburg 104-46.

Opening up the contest, the Juniata relay 4×800 relay time won 9:17.58.

Will Tyson took top honors in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles with times of 17.52 and 45.20, respectively.

Garrett Baublitz also was a double winner, placing first in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:50 and first in the 3200-meter run with a finish of 10:57.8.

Juniata also took the 4×100-meter relay with a mark of 46.9.

Clay Yeager took the 800-meter run with a top finish of 2:21.

Chase Lehman took the pole vault with a leap of 12’0”.

Juniata continued to make its mark in the field as well as Scott Brosius won the high jump with a 5’4” leap.

Garrett Meifert won the discus with a top throw of 106’ 3”.

Rounding out the winners was Barrett Walters in the javelin with a launch of 125’ 7”.

On the girls’ side, the Indians won 100-50.

The girls also took the 4×800 relay with a time of 12:18.42.

Ashlynn Pannebaker dominated both the 100-hurdles and the 300-hurdles with top times of 17.70 and 29.6, respectively.

In the 4×100, the Juniata girls came out on top with a 53.9.

Liseth Montoya finished at the top spot in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:11.45.

Sydney Houtz topped the 800-meter run with a final time of 2:47.

Juniata rounded out the sweep of the relays, winning the 4×400 with a time of 4:51.1.

Megan Brubaker took tops in the long jump and high jump with leaps of 16’ 1/2” and 34’.

Rounding out the night were Maddie Beward in the javelin with a throw of 94’8” and Olivia Clark in the high jump with a mark of 4’ 8”.
