Mifflin County cross country tops Altoona Invitational

ALTOONA – The Mifflin County cross county team showed it is a force to be reckoned with in both on the boys and girls side as they posted strong marks at the Altoona Invitational Saturday, September 15th. 

The Varsity Boys took 1st place out of 22 teams and finished with five medalists

Leading the way for the Huskies were Chayce Macknair with a second place finish while teammate Braydon Harris placed in third. 

Chase Sheaffer rounded out the top 10 finishers with a 7th place finish. 

Seth Phillips: and Mason Schomaker rounded out the varsity place winners with a finish of 13th and 23rd, respectively.

In JV action, the boys finished 2nd out of seven teams. In the process, the group finished with four medalists.

They were Dylan Kurts (8th), Bobby Kuykendall (9th), Mason Laudermilch (11th) and Josiah Yearick (14th).

The Junior High Boys finished 2nd out of 7. 

The boys had two medalists.

Conrad Coffee finished in 6th while Gabe Yoder finished in 10th.

One thegirls’ side, the varsity finished 5th out of 21 teams. 

Mifflin County topped out with two medalists. 

They were; Joy Galbraith (5th) and Lauren Kuykendall (25th)

In girls JV action, the Lady Huskies finished 4th out of six. 

The 5 medalists for the “5Purple and Black attack were Hailey Murray (9th), Macy Becker (10th), 

Ava Wilkes (14th), Maggie Webb (21st) and Karsten Russler (25th). 

Rounding things out in girls Junior High action the Huskies got top performances by Ava Harris (18th), 

Justice Sheaffer (20th) and Isabella Zeigler (43st).
