Errors prove costly for Penns Valley in loss to Clearfield

At Clearfield, the Penns Valley Softball team didn’t quite have enough fire power Thursday to keep up with the bats of Clearfield, falling 9-7.
Winning pitcher Erica Hanes finished with two strikeouts and a walk.
While losing pitcher Kendra Bumgardner had a strikeout and a walk.
Miscues hurt the Rams in their contest as its defense committed four errors.
Offesively, Penns Valley was consistent plating seven runs and 10 hits.
Leading the way offensively were Kaylah Thompson with two singles, two stolen bases and three runs scored while teammate Kendra Bumgardner finished her night at the plate with a double, single, RBI, and two stolen bases.
Allison O’Brien also swung a hot bat posting three singles, three stolen bases, RBI and a run scored.
Ryah Thompson finished with a single while Morgan Hurd finished with a single and a run scored.
Saving the best performance for last Jordan Anderson blasted a home run to go with her two runs scored and RBI.
Clearfield finished with nine
runs, 12 hits and committed five errors.
