MC track battles but is swept by SC

STATE COLLEGE – It was a rivalry renewed Tuesday when Mifflin County and State College met in the track and field arena.
The Lady Huskies girls fell in a competitive 98-52 match while the boys fell to the Little Lions 109-40.
 It was a big day for Skylar Ciccolini.  She set a new county record in the javelin with a mark of 157’7.”  She also set a new school record in the high jump with a leap of 5’1.”  
Besides Skylar Ciccolini’s first in the javelin, sister Taylor finished second with a toss of 103’02”. Serena McConaugh rounded things out for MC with a throw of 87’09”.
Also in the high jump, Mifflin County led in all three spots.
Besides Ciccolini, Ella Spriggle and Haley Carson rounded out the last two top spots with jumps of. 4’ 08” and 4’06”, respectively.
In the discus throw, the Huskies made a clean sweep of the competition, landing spots 1-3.
Leading the way was Layla Shimp with a top throw 102’-11”, Hannah Diehl (78’-07”)and Casey Laky (77’).
Shimp and Diehl also took the top two spots in the shot out with top throws of 30’3” and 26’05”, respectively as well.
On the boys side, it’s been another great start to the season for Seth Phillips, anchoring a come from behind win in the 4×8, and winning the 400 in 52.26.  
In the javelin, “the Purple and Black Attack” got the top two spots. Taking the top spot was Davis Wagner with a throw of 154’ 06”.
In second place, teammate Cade Shoemaker finished with a throw of 151’ 08.
MC’s Braden Harris took First in the 3200-meter run with a time 10:18.17.
Chayce Macknair continues to dominate the 800-meter run, finishing first with a time of 2:05.16.
